…..So.. I.. Well, this got awkward.
Indeed.
I was kidding, y’know.
Somehow I figured that. As you were, Lieutenant.

FROM: Admiral Steven Hackett, Systems Alliance Navy, Fifth Fleet
SUBJECT: Dress Code and Security Procedures Update (Applicable to on and off duty personnel)
DATE: 31st October 2186
Effective immediately, all Halloween costumes and decorations are forbidden, as are any planned pranks or stunts intended for entertainment or comedic effect.
It is understandable that some of you wish to lighten the somber mood that the war has placed on us all, however the remainder of the Admiralty Board has concluded that not only is dressing as a zombie in poor taste at present, but it also poses a security risk.
Contravening this rule will not only result in severe disciplinary action, but offenders also run the risk of death or serious injury as a result of unintentional friendly fire.
At ease, Anderson, you don’t need to salute me anymore. You never did need to anyway. What’s the situation?
Hackett, damn it’s good to see you. Major Coats is still in London, sir. My men and I are just outside Leeds. Heard news of a few doctors and botics. Going to pick them up and then start making our way to London. What of you sir?
Hiding. Regrouping. Working on a way to end this war. Conventional methods aren’t going to cut it.
I’ve got Shepard and the crew of the Normandy doing their damndest to get allies and rally the Council… until then, we’re in no position to help. It’d be pointless.
Coats is still in London, you say? I heard that place got hit hard, and he’s been there a while… I didn’t realise he’d stay, but then I should have known better. I’ve seen his reports for the last few weeks, if you need a quick overview. I know comms have been iffy on the ground.
Oddly enough the extranet seems as sound as ever…

Admiral Hackett, it’s good to see you alive and well. How are things?
…forgive me, I don’t believe we’ve met.
The situation is not good but I’m trying to console myself with the knowledge that it could be worse. We can pull back from this.
Of course, any assistance that members of the galactic community can offer would be most welcome.

Admiral, a pleasure.
-Polite nod-
Ambassador. [salutes] An honour to meet you. I’m afraid I’ve only had scattered reports and mentions of your people and you’re situation, but forgive me if I’m a little preoccupied to worry about the details right now. Have you been briefed on the Reaper threat? I imagine it’s a little hard to miss now.

And you, Shepard, and you. What’s the situation?
